Starting July 1, 2010, Econoship will offer special rates for large shipments. For shipments of 5 cubic meters or more, an additional 2,000 yen will be deducted from the usual per-cubic-meter shipping rate. For shipments of more than 10 cubic meters, 4,000 yen will be deducted from the usual rate. Please contact our office for more details.
Recently, United States Customs and Border Protection has begun to require an additional form be submitted for all shipments entering the United States, or passing through the U.S. in transit to Canada. This form has to be filed by a customs broker, and the charge for this service is 4,000 yen. For all U.S. and Canadian shipments except Hawaii, this charge is listed on the Econoship invoice under "ISF Filing Charge." For shipments to Hawaii, the ISF filing charge of $25 to $35 will be payable in Hawaii, and will not appear on the Econoship invoice.
